The name comes from their resemblance to insect-like eyes.Bug-eye sunglasses are inherently versatile and can be styled across a range of looks. Ambekar recommends pairing them with clean, tailored silhouettes such as a sharp blazer with trousers, finished with slicked-back hair for a polished effect. They also work well with flouncy silhouettes and voluminous hair, creating a more maximalist, statement look.According to her, these frames stand out best when the outfit is kept sharp, clean and minimal, like a monochrome co-ord or elevated athleisure. Pulled-back hair and minimal accessories help the sunglasses take centre stage. For those looking to experiment, tinted lenses or metallic and reflective finishes can add a playful edge. When it comes to proportions, smaller faces should opt for slightly scaled-down bug-eye styles, while larger faces can carry fully oversized frames with ease.
